From the 19th to 25th of June 2017 the events of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW 2017) took place in Brussels and elsewhere in Europe, gathering around 3000 participants, entrepreneurs, representatives of public institutions, state and local government institutions, including from the Riga Energy Agency.




13-08-2014 - Round-table discussion seminar on the use of heat pumps in energy supply of buildings

On the 8th of August, 2014 the round-table discussion seminar "Heat pumps use for buildings energy supply" was held in Riga City Council premises’. The seminar was organized by Energy Efficiency Information Center of Riga Energy Agency in cooperation with the Latvian National Geothermal Association (LNGA).




05-09-2013 - The Partner Search Forum (hereinafter - Forum) of the EEA Grants 2009 - 2014 Programme "National Climate Policy"

On the August 29th Partner Search Forum was held  in the main building of MoEPRD (25 Peldu Street, Riga, Latvia) which is the Programme operator of the “National Climate Policy”. The Forum was financed from the EEA Grants Bilateral relations fund. To participate in the Forum were invited state institutions, local governments, scientific and educational institutions, private enterprises and NGOs. The participants had an opportunity to get information about the open calls planned in the programme “National Climate Policy” as well participants participated in two thematic groups: “Low carbon content technology solutions” and “Capacity building and knowledge improving in the field of climate change”.  Participants performed  brief presentations about their institution/company (scope of business, project ideas).




16-05-2013 - Informative event on the implementation of the 2nd call for proposals of geothermal and other low carbon projects under the NER300 funding programme

On Friday, May 17, 2013 will be an instant thematic round-table discussion seminar - of energy experts and stakeholders on EE & RES issues - organized by Riga Energy Agency (REA). The topic of the current discussion is “Low carbon projects financing opportunities by the 2nd call for proposals of the NER300 support program”. 11-01-2013 - Climate action: Commission awards EUR 1.2 billion to kick-start 23 innovative renewable energy projects

At the end of 2012 The European Commission awarded over €1.2 billion funding to 23 highly innovative renewable energy demonstration projects (incl. one Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) Demonstration Project)  under the first call for proposals for the so-called NER300 funding programme.

29-06-2012 - Geothermal data compilation regional workshop of Baltic region

Two different geothermal events were hold in Vilnius, Lithuania in the last decade of March: Data compilation workshop of the international Project GEOELEC – on the 22nd of March (workshop agenda and the presentations (incl. from EGEC, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) is possible to find here. Annual conference of Geothermal association of Lithuania was held on the 23rd of March ( Actualities in the geothermal development of Latvia were presented in the both of above mentioned geothermal events.



28-04-2011 - Announcement of geothermal activities in Riga


On the 27th of April, 2011, the first geothermal international conference "Geothermal resources in the Latvian municipalities" was held in the Riga City Hall. The first geothermal international conference in Latvia was organized by Riga Energy Agency in cooperation with Latvian National Geothermal Association and JSC “Rīgas siltums”. Between 52 participants of the conference were scientists, representatives of ministries (Ministry of Environment and Regional Development, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance) and several foreign embassies in Latvia, also municipal employees, representatives of professional associations and business entities.
